Fine Dining in Vannes at Empreinte

2020 starts with new energy, fresh ideas and to begin with, a new address for a small restaurant in my hometown, Vannes in Brittany, France.
I grew up there and, at the time, did not find it as exciting as I do today.
Being away from one place and coming back once in while can sometimes allow you to enjoy what's to be enjoyed and observe anew the energy which is being poured into the city.
Contrary to my times, where many of us could not wait to escape from the small town that it was, since a couple of years now, I find that there is a new wind blowing onto Vannes, younger people come back or stay there bringing along their entrepreneurial culture.
New design and fashion shops have opened as well as new tables, which have been missing in the breton scenery.
There is the Roscanvec, a starred restaurant, where one can enjoy deliciously prepared local products, but this time we tried Empreinte, noticed already last summer. It is located in a corner of the Place Valencia, you could easily passed by and not notice it.
It opened its doors last February and is held by a very nice and professional couple, Baptiste, the Chef and Marine, the hostess and sommelier.
The place is tiny but very well decorated, which makes it so cosy. The food is delicious and fine. The products are local, the region is rich in organic products and Marine made us discover wines which are usually not associated with fine dining. Please check their Website as the menu changes regularly.
